PC Health Advisor combines together all the tools you need at your fingertips. These tools enable you to tweak or modify your system in any way you like. You can also fine-tune other Windows settings to get extra speed out of your system so it would run like new again.

I took some time today to install PC Health Advisor on my system and give it a try. I had Windows XP Professional on my home laptop installed almost a year ago and even though I am computer savvy my system started to run a bit slower than it used to be. I have just a few programs that run during startup and the rest are disabled. I regularly clean temporary internet files and run disk defragmentation but still slowness is noticeable.

Installation was very easy, Download PC Health Advisor to your desktop and run Setup. Right away you’ll get prompted with Main Menu where you can scan entire system or just select individual utilities such as Optimize Windows, Process Manager, Startup Manager, Browser Object Manager, Duplicate Finder, and Restore Point.

I was inpatient and run Full System Scan right away and to my surprise my main problem was in the registry. My system was clean of Malware such as viruses, Trojan horses and spywares and my Startup items were almost clean. In the past I’ve used some freeware application to clean up my registry but to be honest I didn’t notice any difference with them.

What I also like about this is that it creates backup points for restoring all changes to original settings. Schedule manager gives you ability to regularly scan your Windows system so it would run at top performance speed.

If for some reason you lost file association in Windows due to program installation/uninstallation or Windows registry error, there is a quick and easy way to restore it. Each file extension like .txt, .bmp, .jpg, .mp3, .wav, .php, .exe, etc is associated with particular program that Windows pulls from a Registry and runs program to open the file. To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it. Winnows can go online to look it up automatically, or you can manually select from a list of programs on your computer.

How to fix File Association in Windows XP:

• Open “My Computer” by double clicking it
• Then on a toolbar click on “Tools”, “Folder Options…”
• Select “File Types” tab
• You now see all associated file extension for registered file types:
• Pick file extension that you need to associate with another program and click on change.

In the same window you can create or delete file extensions and the programs associated with them.
